Legal Transcriber/Typist with Government Security Clearance (Contract)

Neal R. Gross & Co. (NRGCO) is a Washington, DC based Court Reporting and Transcription company with over 45 years of experience serving government and private clients. We are seeking legal transcribers for EOIR-type work including trials, administrative hearings, historical and investigational interviews, and meetings.

This is a work-from-home position. You will receive audio, notes, and a format via FTP. You must transcribe the material accurately and in a timely manner according to the provided format and submit the completed verbatim transcript.

• Excellent command of the English language
• Government Security Clearance is REQUIRED
• Must be able to transcribe at least 3 hours of audio per week
• Accurate grammar, punctuation, and spelling
• Attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines
• High speed internet connection
• Internet research skills
• Proofreading of all work before submission
• Must be a US citizen
• Required software/hardware:
  • Word Perfect and/or MSWord
  • Windows Operating System
  • FTR Player (free download)
  • Express Scribe (free download)
  • File Zilla (free download)
• OPTIONAL - USB foot pedal (Infinity is a popular model)
• AAERT certification is a plus
• Must type at least 60 WPM

Transcribers are paid by the page at competitive rates. All NRGCO transcribers are independent 1099 subcontractors paid biweekly for completed and timely invoices.
