EWM Consultant

Job Summary:

The EWM Consultant at Syntax is responsible for the design, configuration, and optimization of SAP logistics and warehouse management solutions, specifically focusing on Master Data (MD) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM). This role plays a crucial part in improving warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and overall supply chain efficiency by collaborating with business stakeholders, functional teams, and technical consultants. The consultant will engage in implementation, rollout, and support projects, ensuring that SAP solutions are aligned with business processes and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Configure and support SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) processes, including inbound, outbound, internal warehouse movements, and inventory management.
  • Manage and maintain master data (MD) related to warehouse operations, such as materials, storage bins, handling units, and warehouse organizational structures.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP EWM functional designs and system configurations.
  • Support SAP S/4

    HANA or ECC EWM implementations, rollouts, and Application Management Services (AMS) engagements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including MM, SD, PP, and TM to ensure integrated logistics and supply chain processes.
  • Participate in workshops with business stakeholders to gather requirements, identify improvement opportunities, and design optimal warehouse solutions.
  • Prepare functional specifications for developments, enhancements, reports, and interfaces related to warehouse processes.
  • Support testing activities including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Provide end-user training and documentation to ensure successful adoption of SAP EWM solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues and process gaps within warehouse operations.
  • Ensure compliance with SAP best practices, delivery standards, and project governance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support knowledge sharing within the SAP logistics team.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3–7 years of experience working with SAP logistics solutions.
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP EWM configuration and warehouse processes.
  • Strong understanding of SAP master data management related to logistics and warehouse operations.
  • Experience working in SAP S/4

    HANA or ECC environments.
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience supporting implementations, rollouts, or AMS support engagements.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with RF framework, warehouse automation, or integration with WM/MM/SD.
  • Familiarity with IDocs, interfaces, and integration with other SAP modules.
  • SAP certification in EWM or Supply Chain Management.
  • Experience working in global SAP delivery environments.
Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • SAP certification in EWM or Supply Chain Management (preferred).
