We're looking for an technical evangelist and support engineer to join our team and contribute to the success of the Redivis web platform!
About RedivisRedivis is a data platform used by thousands of scientists across top research universities to discover, understand, and analyze data. We're growing fast — connecting researchers with the rich datasets they need to do groundbreaking work, and giving institutions the tools to distribute data goal: make data science simpler and more accessible to everyone.
RoleYou'll serve as the bridge between the Redivis platform and our growing user base — the key person who ensures researchers and administrators succeed with the tools they have today, and discover everything else Redivis can do for them. You'll play a central role in defining best practices around data science workflows, building the self‑serve resources researchers need to succeed, and solving the complex technical problems they can't work through alone.
Day to day, you'll have a lot of autonomy to identify where to focus and drive your own plans to execution — spanning both technical evangelism (community engagement, content, training) and support engineering (troubleshooting workflows, escalating issues, working closely with the product team). Over time, this role provides a path to becoming one of the faces of Redivis, and leading our community growth and development.
In this role, you will:
- Become an expert in using the Redivis platform for data analysis and management.
- Track developments in the broader data science ecosystem and identify how emerging tools, workflows, and community trends connect to Redivis.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the goals and pain points of our researchers and administrators, and use those insights to drive improvements across support and education.
- Proactively engage the Redivis community to showcase and teach platform functionality (e.g. webinars, blog posts, training events).
- Build and maintain scalable self‑serve support resources (e.g. documentation, example workflows, guides, and training videos).
- Serve as the primary point of contact for inquiries via email and other inbound channels to triage, diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues.
- Collaborate with engineering and design to surface bugs, advocate for user needs, and contribute to platform improvements.
- Technical proficiency in SQL, Python, and R to create and communicate example data workflows and troubleshoot on a detailed level.
- Solid understanding of data science principles, methodologies, and common tools.
- Experience creating and maintaining teaching or support materials.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Experience working with research communities or in an academic setting.
- Preexisting familiarity with the Redivis platform.
- Enthusiasm for learning and sharing new technologies.
- Experience in a technical support, customer success, developer relations, or similar role, specifically supporting a technical user base.
Our team is fully remote and does not have an office. We are primarily based in the Bay Area, CA and keep Pacific time for meetings, but have flexibility to work across the United States.
