What the Strategic Sourcing Analyst – Global Indirect, SG&A & IT Spend does at Worldwide Clinical Trials
The Strategic Sourcing Analyst – Global Indirect, SG&A & IT Spend supports the development and execution of global sourcing strategies across a broad portfolio of indirect and SG&A categories, including a heavy focus on Information Technology (IT). This role is critical to enabling a global Clinical Research Organization (CRO) by delivering commercial value, cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk mitigation across a complex, regulated, and matrixed environment.
You will partner with stakeholders across IT, Finance, HR, Legal, Compliance, Facilities, Clinical Operations, Marketing and Corporate Functions to ensure sourcing strategies align with global business objectives, regional requirements, and regulatory obligations across our global footprint.
Responsibilities- Global Strategic Sourcing & Category Support
- Support global sourcing strategies across indirect and SG&A and IT categories, including but not limited to:
- Information Technology (hardware, software, SaaS, cloud, telecom, IT services)
- Professional services (consulting, legal, audit, advisory)
- Corporate services (HR, talent, training, contingent labor, etc.)
- Facilities, real estate services, and corporate operations
- Marketing, communications, and other SG&A spend categories
- Or any other category as assigned
- Execute sourcing initiatives at global, regional, and local levels, balancing global leverage with regional flexibility
- Analyze spend data across SG&A and IT categories to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities
- Provide metrics to support sourcing dashboards including cost savings, compliance, etc.
- Conduct market benchmarking analyses to support sourcing decisions
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including RFx development, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and award recommendations in alignment with category strategies
- Identify cost savings, cost avoidance, and value creation opportunities aligned with business and IT roadmaps
- Support supplier rationalization and preferred/global supplier programs
- Analyze global and regional spend data to identify cost savings, demand management, and standardization opportunities
- Support global sourcing strategies across indirect and SG&A and IT categories, including but not limited to:
- Contracting, Risk & Compliance Support
- Support end-to-end contract lifecycle management, including:
- Negotiation support and commercial term alignment
- Contract renewals, amendments, and expirations
- Support contract negotiations in collaboration with applicable stakeholders, ensuring favorable commercial, risk, data privacy, cybersecurity, and compliance terms
- Analyze trends, service levels, and commercial compliance
- Assist Vendor Management in supplier performance monitoring and issue resolution across indirect, SG&A and IT categories
- Support end-to-end contract lifecycle management, including:
- Global Stakeholder Partnership
- Serve as a trusted procurement partner to global and regional stakeholders
- Partner with IT leaders, functional business owners, Finance and others as applicable to understand business needs, demand drivers, and budget constraints
- Translate business needs, technical and functional requirements into commercially sound sourcing strategies and procurement solutions
- Educate stakeholders on sourcing processes, supplier options, and contract considerations
- Drive adoption of procurement policies, tools, and best practices across regions
- Perform other duties as assigned
The Role
- Strong analytical, financial, and problem‑solving skills; advanced Excel required
- Solid understanding of indirect and SG&A sourcing models (services, subscriptions, project‑based spend)
- Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization
- Strong interpersonal and communication and stakeholder management skills across cultures and time zones
- Working knowledge of contract structures, supplier governance, and risk management
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Curious and continuous learner, particularly regarding IT markets and emerging technologies
- BA/BS degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
