+ Create, edit, and maintain digital map data using GIS tools in a production environment with clearly defined quality and timeliness goals.

+ Apply standards and specifications such as TDS, MGCP, MUVD, and conflation processes when applicable to ensure data consistency and accuracy.

+ Consistently complete feature data extraction tasks within estimated hours while meeting or exceeding established quality requirements.

+ Support geospatial projects for government customers, including work that aligns with National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) needs.

+ Document and clearly communicate which project numbers you support, the duration of your involvement, and the specific mapping responsibilities you handle on each project.

+ Collaborate closely with an all-remote team, communicating progress, challenges, and risks to help the team meet project goals and milestones.

+ Work productively at a computer for extended periods, focusing on detailed imagery and geospatial datasets throughout the workday.

+ Meet or exceed production milestones and deadlines, including working more than 40 hours per week when needed to support critical delivery timelines.

+ Use your personal computer and internet connection to securely access an assigned work computer and complete all required tasks from home.

Essential Skills

+ Demonstrated experience with imagery analysis and feature data extraction from satellite imagery.

+ Hands-on experience with digital mapping and geospatial data production in a quality- and schedule-driven environment.

+ Practical experience with geospatial concepts and tools, including GIS and geography-focused workflows.

+

Experience with TDS, MGCP, MUVD, and conflation workflows, or similar geospatial data production standards.

+ Previous experience directly supporting the Janus Geography contract performing feature data extraction is strongly preferred.

+ Proven experience supporting NGA-related geospatial work.

+ Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of an all-remote team and provide clear updates on progress and issues.

+ Ability to consistently complete assigned tasks within estimated hours while meeting defined quality standards.

+ Comfort working at a desk and on a computer for at least eight hours per day.

+ Willingness to work more than 40 hours per week when necessary to meet project deadlines.

+ Ability to quickly come up to speed on project standards, tools, and workflows and adapt to evolving project requirements.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, or a related field with multiple GIS courses, or equivalent GIS experience.

+ Experience using ESRI-based GIS software and tools.

+ Prior experience performing feature data extraction in support of the Janus Geography contract for other organizations.

+ Demonstrated success working in a production-focused environment with defined milestones and performance metrics.

+ Ability to clearly describe previous projects, including project numbers, duration of support, and specific mapping responsibilities.

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and consistency across large geospatial datasets.

+ Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage workload independently in a remote setting while maintaining high productivity.

Work Environment

This role is fully remote and requires you to work from home using your personal computer and reliable internet connection to securely access an assigned work computer. You will spend most of the workday seated at a desk, working on a computer and viewing detailed imagery to collect and edit topographic features.
