Cognitive Minds is seeking a Senior Business Analyst with strong visual modeling and UX‑focused skills to support a public‑sector client in the Education domain. This role goes beyond traditional BA responsibilities—requiring deep expertise in translating conversations into structured requirements, process flows, and intuitive visual artifacts that guide product and systems design.
Job DescriptionAs a Senior Business Analyst, you will work closely with business users, product owners, and technical teams to define system requirements and transform discussions into clear documentation and visual representations. You will create UML diagrams, wireframes, mockups, user journeys, and detailed process flows to support solution clarity and decision‑making. Operating in an Agile environment, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure requirements are fully understood, feasible, and aligned with project goals.
This is a critical role within a public‑sector education initiative, requiring exceptional communication, analytical, and UX‑oriented documentation abilities.
- Translate business discussions into structured documentation and high‑quality visual artifacts
- Develop process flows, UML diagrams, user journeys, mockups, and wireframes
- Facilitate requirement‑gathering sessions with business and technical stakeholders
- Document functional, non‑functional, and system requirements
- Collaborate with product owners, developers, UX teams, QA, and project managers
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and maintain detailed requirement backlogs
- Ensure alignment between business needs, system design, and delivery progress
- Support validation of requirements through testing and user feedback loops
- Must be a Texas resident and hold a valid Texas Driver’s License
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (IT, Business, etc.)
- Senior‑level experience as a Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or Product‑focused Analyst
- Strong knowledge of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and requirements engineering
- Expertise in visual modeling, UML, wire framing and UX‑oriented documentation, process flows and business process modeling
- Ability to create high‑quality visual artifacts (mockups, diagrams, system flows)
- Strong familiarity with tools such as Jira, Modern Requirements, or similar BA/UX documentation tools
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Public sector or government IT project experience
- Experience in education technology solutions
- Prior work in large enterprise or multi‑stakeholder environments
- Knowledge of business process improvement methodologies
Attach a portfolio of visual artifacts—UML diagrams, process workflows, wireframes, or mockups—along with your resume. Demonstrating your visual modeling capabilities will strongly differentiate you from typical BA profiles and significantly increase your chances of selection.
