Data Engineering
The Senior Data Engineer is responsible for orchestrating, deploying, maintaining, and scaling cloud or on‑premise infrastructure targeting big data and platform data management (relational and No
SQL, distributed and converged) with an emphasis on reliability, automation, and performance. They will develop solutions to transform the company's platforms to deliver data‑driven insights and value.
- Develops and maintains infrastructure systems (e.g., data warehouses, data lakes) including data access APIs; prepares and manipulates data using multiple technologies.
- Interprets data, analyzes results using statistical techniques, provides ongoing reports, executes quantitative analyses that translate data into actionable insights, supports key projects, designs, manages, and conducts quality control procedures for data sets from multiple systems.
- Develops data models by studying existing data warehouse architecture; evaluates alternative logical data models, plans and executes tables using metadata and modeling standards, guides data classes and sub‑classes, indexes, directories, repositories, messages, sharing, replication, backup, retention, and recovery.
- Creates data collection frameworks for structured and unstructured data.
- Improves data delivery engineering knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, building professional networks, benchmarking best practices, and participating in professional societies.
- Applies data extraction, transformation, and loading techniques to connect large data sets from many sources.
- Implements best practices for data auditing, scalability, reliability, and application performance.
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist and mentor less‑experienced staff; may lead a matrixed team.
QualificationsEducation Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent work experience (4 years) with all required experience.
Experience: 5 years of database design, ETL/ELT development, application development, relational database layout, and data modeling.
Preferred Qualifications- Snowflake experience.
- Python experience.
- Knowledge of healthcare data (claims, clinical data).
- Experience with HEDIS submissions.
Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (SQL, No
SQL, Python). - Knowledge of database design and implementation concepts.
- Knowledge of data exchange formats.
- Knowledge of data movement concepts.
- Strong technical and analytical problem‑solving skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, with ability to handle multiple priorities.
Salary Range: $99,000 – $196,625
