About Code Metal
Code Metal is redefining code translation for mission-critical industries, helping defense partners move more quickly and reliably from algorithm to silicon. Our platform accelerates deployment of DSP, RF, communications, and embedded signal processing algorithms onto heterogeneous compute targets, including GPUs, FPGAs, ASICs, and edge SoCs. We also support automotive, aerospace, and semiconductor partners deploying complex algorithms onto constrained hardware with speed and rigor.
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Engineer (On-Prem + Hybrid) to join our team. This person will be responsible for managing and improving our on-prem servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, networking, and hybrid infrastructure environments.

Collaborate with cloud engineers to support hybrid architectures and shared infrastructure patterns.
Develop and maintain automation for infrastructure provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and recovery.
Implement and improve monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery practices for core infrastructure.
Support customer-hosted, regulated, and government deployment environments as needed.
Maintain infrastructure documentation and operational processes that are traceable and auditable.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems engineering, or data center operations.
Strong experience managing on-prem servers, virtualization platforms, storage, and network-connected infrastructure.
Experience with Linux systems administration and infrastructure troubleshooting.
Experience with automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code using tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and hybrid connectivity patterns.
Experience with system monitoring, backup, patching, and disaster recovery practices.
Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments across AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar platforms
Familiarity with customer-hosted, regulated, or government infrastructure requirements
Experience with Kubernetes, container platforms, or orchestration systems in hybrid environments
Exposure to security hardening, compliance controls, and infrastructure audit readiness
Experience supporting high-availability or mission-critical systems
Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S.Secret security clearance
Pay depends on experience, but we strive to be at the upper end of the salary range
