Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division fora

Jira Administrator. This is acontract position working remote with benefits. This role will focus on optimizing Jira environments, supporting project management teams, and building scalable workflows and automations. The ideal candidate is hands‑on, collaborative, and able to transfer knowledge effectively to internal teams.

Must be a U.S. Citizen. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Responsibilities
  • Administer and optimize Jira Cloud environments, including configurations and ongoing system enhancements.
  • Design and implement Jira automations to streamline workflows and improve team efficiency.
  • Create and customize Jira projects, including issue types, workflows, permission schemes, and screen configurations.
  • Partner closely with Project Management teams to gather requirements and deliver tailored Jira solutions.
  • Troubleshoot system issues and provide ongoing support to Jira users.
  • Document configurations, processes, and best practices.
  • Cross‑train internal team members (Merlin Lab employees) on implemented solutions and system usage.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience as a Jira Administrator.
  • Strong expertise in Jira Cloud, including automations and advanced customizations.
  • Proven experience with project setup and configuration (workflows, schemes, permissions, issue types, etc.).
  • Ability to collaborate with PM teams and translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Experience training or mentoring end users and internal teams.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
