As our Quality Assurance Test Engineer, you will design and execute comprehensive testing strategies that ensure our solutions meet the highest standards of reliability, security, and performance while adhering to stringent government compliance requirements.

Your Mission Impact

As a Quality Assurance Test Engineer at Aurelius, you will:

  • Test Automation Excellence – Build and maintain robust automated testing frameworks that validate functionality, security, and compliance across federal systems.
  • Quality Gates at Scale – Implement continuous testing practices within CI/CD pipelines, catching defects before they impact mission-critical operations.
  • Compliance Validation – Design test scenarios that verify adherence to NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, and agency-specific requirements through automated compliance checks.
  • Performance Assurance – Execute load, stress, and scalability testing to ensure systems meet federal SLAs under peak operational conditions.
  • Risk Mitigation – Identify, document, and track quality risks while collaborating with development teams to implement preventive measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and implement comprehensive test automation frameworks using Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright for web applications and APIs
  • Design and execute test strategies covering functional, integration, security, performance, and 508 accessibility requirements
  • Integrate automated testing into Git Lab CI/CD pipelines with quality gates and automated reporting
  • Develop and maintain test data management strategies compliant with federal data handling requirements
  • Create performance testing scenarios using JMeter or Load Runner to validate system behavior under federal workload conditions
  • Implement security testing practices including OWASP compliance validation and vulnerability scanning integration
  • Document test plans, test cases, and defect reports meeting federal documentation standards
  • Collaborate with Dev Sec Ops  teams to shift testing left and embed quality throughout the SDLC
  • Support ATO processes by providing comprehensive testing evidence and validation reports

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of QA engineering experience with 3+ years in federal government contracting
  • Expert-level proficiency in test automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, TestNG, JUnit)
  • Experience with API testing tools (Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI)
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing tools (JMeter, Load Runner, Gatling)
  • Deep understanding of federal compliance testing requirements (NIST 800-53, Section 508)
  • Experience with test management tools (Jira, Test Rail, qTest) in government environments
  • Proven track record of implementing CI/CD test automation in Azure Dev Ops or Git Lab
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365 Copilot

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
  • Certifications:

    ISTQB, Security+, AWS/Azure certifications
  • Experience with accessibility testing tools (JAWS, NVDA, aXe)
  • Knowledge of security testing tools (Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP)
  • Familiarity with government testing standards and CMMI practices
  • Experience supporting VA, DoD, DHS, or civilian agencies
  • Understanding of RMF processes and security control testing
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and systems in daily workflow

Location

Fully remote position with occasional travel to client sites in the DC metro area. Flexibility attending on-site meetings when necessary.
