Senior Site Reliability Engineer – Security Edge
Our Security Edge team designs and develops software that runs one of the s largest distributed systems. This network allows us to solve problems at a scale that few others can approach. We take pride in helping our customers protect their web sites and transactions over the Internet.
Responsibilities- Investigating customer escalations and providing mitigation.
- Working on tooling to automate production debugging.
- Setting up continuous production profiling, identifying areas of cost reduction, and proposing new designs.
- Creating and enhancing features and functionality, from conception and design through to testing and deployment.
- Validating the result of cost reduction and providing benchmark results.
- Conducting code reviews and helping other engineers to optimize their code.
- Working with development and system QA teams to create regression tests that cover changes to our software.
- Have 5 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent experience.
- Have an active security clearance.
- Possess experience working in networking, cloud, or distributed computing environment.
- Demonstrate experience programming with C++.
- Have working knowledge with Linux or UNIX operating systems.
- Demonstrate good verbal and written communication skills and ability to write design documentation.
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only, the base salary for this position ranges from $121,400 - $218,600/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
