Klipboard has introduced a flexible hybrid work policy, where employees spend three days in the office and two days working from home. This approach promotes a balanced work environment that combines office collaboration with the comfort and convenience of remote work.

Klipboard provides specialist software, services and support to deliver fully integrated trading and business management solutions to companies in the distributive trade – wherever they are in the world. With a unique depth of knowledge and experience in ERP/SaaS solutions, Klipboard has a wide range of clients that includes wholesalers, distributors, merchants and retailers from small traders to multinational enterprises. Klipboard has offices in the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands, South Africa, Kenya and North America.

Our mission is simple: to design and deliver high-performance, integrated ERP solutions that enable our distributive trade customers to source effectively, stock efficiently, sell profitably and service competitively.

Klipboard is a global, growing business that embraces AI and emerging technologies to enhance customer outcomes, collaboration, and continuous improvement. We’re looking for people who are curious about or fluid with AI, open to change, and excited to learn how technology can improve the way we work and help our customers, which is always supported by strong human insight and communication.

The Infrastructure as Code (IaaC) Automation Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, support and continuous improvement of automated infrastructure and platform deployment solutions across Klipboard environments in the cloud. The post holder will play a key role in driving standardisation, efficiency, scalability and service quality through the use of automation, scripting and repeatable deployment practices. Working collaboratively across technical and operational teams, the role will contribute to the delivery of resilient, secure and well-governed platform services aligned to business and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code and automation solutions to support the delivery of cloud-based platforms.
  • Develop and support automated provisioning, configuration and deployment processes using approved technologies, tooling and scripting languages.
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting automated deployments, infrastructure configuration and platform consistency.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering, support and service teams to improve standardisation, resilience, repeatability and operational efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation, automation artefacts and operational standards in line with departmental requirements.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of automation solutions and identify opportunities for continuous improvement, optimisation and risk reduction.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and contribute positively to knowledge sharing across the wider team.
  • Ensure that activities are delivered in accordance with agreed processes, governance standards, security requirements and service expectations.
  • Participate in training and development activities as required to maintain and enhance knowledge, skills and professional capability.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Demonstrable experience in infrastructure automation, platform engineering, Dev Ops, systems engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure-as-code and configuration management principles, with practical experience of tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM, Bicep or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience of working with cloud platforms and services, ideally Microsoft Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation using technologies such as Power Shell, Bash, Python or comparable languages.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues across infrastructure and deployment processes.
  • Ability to manage changing priorities effectively, work in a structured manner and remain composed under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across technical and non‑technical teams.
  • A proactive, methodical and quality‑focused approach, with a commitment to documentation, governance, continuous improvement and service excellence.

Research shows that women and other underrepresented groups are less likely to apply for a role unless they meet every listed requirement. However, we recognise that skills and experience come in many forms, and we encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every criterion. If you are passionate about this role and believe you have the right mindset and transferrable skills, we would love to hear from you!
