The Role
Our Infrastructure team is looking for a Sr Network Engineer to support Shamrock’s extremely fast growth. The ideal candidate will have a deep Palo Alto and Cisco background, experience in AWS, a passion for automation, a pragmatic approach to engineering solutions, a high aptitude, and strong problem-solving skills.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a network and firewall subject matter expert, recommending and implementing best-practice network architecture, as relevant to our environment.
- Design, deploy and maintain secure and highly available network infrastructure and related technologies.
- Lead complex troubleshooting and resolve critical or escalated technical issues of affected equipment.
- Troubleshoot network issues within on-premises and cloud environments.
- Collaborate effectively with teammates, other teams, and vendors.
- Participate in a 24x7x365 on-call rotation to support our network infrastructure.
- Lead and take part in the development of processes and documentation for new and existing areas of work or knowledge.
- Comply with company and team processes and policies, including those that contribute to maintaining a highly available (99.99+%) and secure network infrastructure.
- Mentor, train, and guide team members.
What You’ll Bring
- BA/BS degree in a technical field or evidence of exceptional ability.
- Must possess a passion for technology.
- Extensive experience working on data center network technologies in an enterprise level environment.
- Advanced networking knowledge, including routing, topology, and protocol understanding.
- Extensive expertise with Palo Alto firewalls and ability to achieve the Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall Engineer certification within 3 months of hire.
- Expertise with Cisco/Meraki networks and software-defined networking (SDN).
- Experience with BGP and VXLAN/EVPN.
