Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic GRC Risk Management Systems team as a Senior Business Analyst. This role plays a critical part in achieving the organization's risk management goals and contributing to data‑driven decision‑making.
Essential Responsibilities- Advocate for use of the GRC technology platform as the optimal tool for risk and governance program activities and as the system of record.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to enable departments to identify, understand, and manage key organizational risks holistically.
- Develop features/user stories and support review of QA test scripts, lead UAT and regression activities, and release validation.
- Identify process improvement, user experience, design, and technical systems and architecture opportunities to support risk and governance programs.
- Drive business requirements to ensure data integrity, usage, and flow are well understood and agreed upon by business partners during grooming.
- Maintain a well‑groomed backlog, participate in Agile rituals, and act as the voice of the business for GRC.
- Support the build and prioritized sequence of the backlog to drive the defined product roadmap by partnering and collaborating with stakeholders on defining and documenting requirements.
- Support the day‑to‑day management and operation of Synchrony’s GRC risk technology platform.
- Work with IT and business teams as required.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
- OR 7+ years of experience in software development and/or life‑cycle management (design, QA, UAT, project management).
- 4+ years of experience in software development and/or life‑cycle management (design, QA, UAT, project management).
- 4+ years of experience with operational risk management techniques, including development of process flows, risk and control assessment, testing, monitoring procedures, and related metrics.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
- 2+ years of working with advanced Excel functions (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, charts).
- 5+ years of project management experience.
- Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required.
- Ability to lead and manage projects to completion, especially managing multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Experience driving and identifying validation scenarios for UAT with product owners.
- Experience working with product owners/SMEs in eGRC domains such as TPRM, Issues Management, RCSA, Business Continuity Management, Compliance, Audit.
- Problem solver with ability to promote collaborative problem‑solving.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in an offshore/onshore team environment.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in risk, banking, or credit card industry.
- Track record of creative problem solving and ability to thrive in cross‑functional and virtual environments.
- High energy, self‑motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Agile development frameworks (Scrum and Kanban).
- Proficient in documenting process flows, epics, features, user stories.
- Experience working on eGRC platforms such as Archer, SAI
360, Metric Stream, Audit Board, etc. - Experience working with a global team.
Grade/Level: 10 – Salary range:
75,000.00 – USD annual. Eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance. Actual compensation within the posted range will be based on experience, skill level, and knowledge. Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro, and Seattle.
Flexibility to work from home near one of our Hubs or from an office. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (virtual or physical) for in‑person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training, and culture events.
