Sr. IT Security Engineer - REMOTE from EST or CST US- time zone

Job Summary

CNO’s IT Team is hiring a Sr IT Security Engineer who will work with minimal supervision to design and implement security solutions for a variety of stakeholders. The role includes serving as a subject‑matter expert, leading and coaching junior team members, and overseeing the performance and status of all security systems.

• Establish annual projects and deliverables aligned with company business goals and communicated by the CISO and Security Architecture leadership.
• Create engineering diagrams, security analysis, whitepapers, system documentation, presentations, and other deliverables.
• Present to diverse groups, translating security technology and concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Plan, design, implement, and maintain security‑related technologies.
• Participate in projects as required; analyze, design, develop, and implement security solutions that protect information assets while enabling business functionality.
• Utilize software and hardware tools, identify and diagnose problems affecting information security tools and systems, and provide 2nd and 3rd tier operational support.
• Provide information security expertise and consulting to internal IT, business system owners, and other stakeholders.
• Perform product and solution lifecycle management, ensuring capacity, integrity, and availability of all security systems.
• Align technologies to support overall strategy and information security framework.
• Ensure new and existing products conform to information security policies, standards, and best practices.
• Conduct research on emerging technologies to support enterprise operations.
• Review new and existing system designs for compliance with security standards and best practices.

• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure solutions (Operating Systems, Networks, DNS, Firewalls, SSO, MFA, F5s, Azure, Active Directory, etc.) and Cloud Services (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS).
• Exhibit strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, including the ability to combine complex data from multiple sources for analysis.
• Effectively prioritize and execute tasks while balancing multiple priorities.
• Collaborate effectively across multiple business functions to elicit and document business requirements.
• Work with Security Engineers to engage and train on security tools, building their individual tool skill sets.
• Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Typically requires a minimum of five years of related work experience.
• Strong understanding of information security technologies (endpoint management, cloud application security, certificate management, etc.).
• Strong fundamental understanding of networking and DNS.
• Applicable security or CISSP certifications are preferred.

Pay Range: $ - $ Annual

Full‑time. Associates living within a 60‑mile radius of a corporate office (Carmel, Chicago, or Orlando) may work on site. Those outside this radius may work full‑time from home (WFH) from any U.S. EST or CST time zone. Work cannot be performed from outside the United States.
