Pre-Sales / Technical Account Manager
Department: Solutions & Support
Employment Type: Full Time
Location: North America (Remote)
Compensation: $120,000 - $180,000 / year
Description
As part of an internationally distributed team, headquartered in Sunnyvale but working from home and in the field, you are assertive, energetic, an excellent communicator, and a highly effective collaborator. You balance your technical capabilities with a commercial awareness and find both equally rewarding. You have a passion for working closely with customers to change how they work and enjoy sharing in their ongoing success.
In this role, you act as a technical partner to the sales organization, leading pre-sales engagements and shaping solutions that position the SDVI platform for long-term success. You are comfortable engaging with both technical and executive stakeholders, translating complex workflows into scalable architectures, and ensuring alignment between customer objectives and platform capabilities. You collaborate with sales, product, engineering, and support teams to ensure continuity and customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Activities
Supporting the sales team, you will own the technical aspects of the sales cycle, lead discovery sessions, shape solution designs, and serve as the technical voice in customer meetings. You will build demos and proof-of-concept supply chains that showcase value, while assessing scope, effort, risk, and timelines to ensure stakeholder alignment and technical fit.
Customer Onboarding
You will guide new customers from POC to production, defining requirements, designing workflows, and building and testing supply chains under real-world deadlines. From technical handoffs to onboarding milestones, you will provide hands-on training and documentation to ensure customers can confidently operate the platform independently.
Expansion & Growth
As a SaaS provider, we expect our customers' usage to increase over time. You will proactively identify expansion opportunities through higher throughput, new workflows, additional integrations, or adoption across new teams or departments. Stay attuned to evolving customer challenges and evaluate new product capabilities as opportunities to address unmet needs. You will collaborate with sales to position these expansions, support technical validation, and help customers realize incremental value from the Rally platform.
Customer Support
As the main technical contact, you'll work with our support team to ensure customers are satisfied. You'll coordinate with sales, engineering, product management, and support to resolve issues, represent customer needs internally, and make sure customers feel heard, supported, and confident in their partnership with SDVI.
Salary range $120,000 to $180,000
Salary range represents the expected range for this position and is based on a number of factors, including location, and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges are US applicable only.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
We're Interested in You Because:
• You possess proven customer-facing experience with large media and entertainment customers, including pre-sales or solution design responsibilities.
• You have deep familiarity with media workflows, broadcast, streaming, and content supply chain technologies.
• You understand media file types, metadata structures, and delivery standards.
• You are confident working with XML, JSON, and Python.
• Your ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• You bring experience participating in or leading technical sales, including demos and POCs
• You can travel as necessary, visiting customers, industry events, and trade shows
• You are capable and flexible enough to take on other duties as required to support the team's success
• You have a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience, with 5+ years of relevant commercial experience
What success looks like in the first 6-12 months
Within six months, you are fully fluent in the SDVI platform and confidently leading technical discovery, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept engagements. You are a trusted technical partner to sales, contributing meaningfully to active opportunities and helping shape deal strategy.
