Hardware Engineer
Role Overview
Field Service Engineer (FSE) at Cepheid provides on‑site support to customers, performing installation, repair, and maintenance of diagnostic equipment while maintaining compliance with customer and company standards.
Responsibilities- Provide frontline support by rapidly resolving customer issues and troubleshooting to support service revenue and contract retention.
- Travel throughout a designated service region on short notice to support products, partners, and conduct training for operational performance and data quality.
- Work independently within a geographic territory and foster a team‑based environment with benchmarking, mentoring, and expert technical support.
- Perform equipment installation, repair, and preventive maintenance.
- AA or Technical Trade Degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience) with 2–4 years of related work experience, or equivalent military experience.
- Able to pass vendor credentialing requirements imposed by customers (background checks, drug screening, immunizations, etc.; company pays the cost).
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills; capable of presenting and training technical information.
- Self‑managed, fast‑paced work style; able to manage time effectively and document activities and expenses.
- Travel: 75% travel on short notice with periodic overnight stays; possible on‑call and weekend shifts.
- Physical: capable of lifting 50 lbs. to a minimum height of 5 feet.
- BA Degree in Electronics or Engineering.
- 2–4 Years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS, MT, CLS).
Annual salary range: $70,000 – $85,000. Eligible for bonus/incentive pay. Comprehensive package includes paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k) for eligible employees.
Remote work arrangement is available for eligible roles.
