Walker Healthforce is seeking a Mainframe Developer with 3-5+ years of experience to support the development, maintenance, and production support of healthcare claims processing applications. This is a 6-month Contract opportunity.

HOURS/

SCHEDULE:

Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

WORKER TYPE:
W2

CORE REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-5+ years of hands-on experience in Mainframe application development and support

• Strong experience with COBOL, JCL, and DB2

• Experience with Mainframe Development & Support, Batch Job Monitoring, ABEND Resolution, Unit Testing, and Integration Testing

• Experience utilizing Service Now for Incident and Change Management activities

• Experience supporting production environments, troubleshooting issues, and maintaining application stability

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience working in production support environments with batch processing and issue resolution responsibilities

• Ability to analyze and resolve application performance and functionality issues

• Experience participating in incident, problem, and change management processes

• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams

• Must be authorized to work on a W2 basis

• Fully remote position

WE CONSIDER IT A BONUS IF YOU ALSO HAVE:

• Healthcare or insurance industry experience

• Experience supporting claims processing applications

• Knowledge of healthcare compliance requirements and regulatory updates

• Experience supporting mainframe system upgrades and modernization initiatives

• Familiarity with operational procedures, runbooks, and production release activities

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, test, and deploy code changes for mainframe claims processing applications based on technical specifications

• Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing mainframe applications

• Monitor daily batch jobs and resolve ABENDs and production issues within established SLA timelines

• Assist with unit testing, integration testing, and implementation of healthcare compliance updates

• Analyze and resolve application performance and functionality issues

• Provide technical support for mainframe system upgrades and enhancements

• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and support teams to ensure seamless integration and delivery of solutions

• Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes

• Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks

• Support production releases and ongoing operational activities

• Ensure system stability, performance, and compliance with business requirements
