GDS System Trainer (On‑site, Virginia Beach, VA)
Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive end‑to‑end process training for team members, focusing on GDS platforms and TMC processes.
- Develop training materials, documentation, and presentations for GDS systems (Worldspan and Travelport+).
- Ensure training aligns with key performance indicators (KPIs) and other deliverables for effective learning and development.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to enhance throughput and optimize training processes.
- Monitor, assess, and report on training effectiveness, adjusting as needed to meet team and company objectives.
- Facilitate training sessions, including live (in‑person and virtual) training and e‑learning modules.
- Proactively identify training needs based on performance metrics and deliver solutions accordingly.
- Stay current with industry trends, GDS advancements, and travel management best practices.
- Create dynamic and engaging training content and presentations.
- Collaborate with other trainers, managers, and stakeholders to ensure quality and consistency of training programs.
- Serve as backup consultant for other accounts/clients, as assigned.
- Be amenable to remote work from a designated home office with occasional travel to training sites.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 2‑3 years of experience in training and development within the travel industry.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with technical and non‑technical users.
- Previous experience in training, preferably in the travel industry or GDS systems.
- Proficiency in using and teaching GDS systems such as Worldspan, Travelport+, Sabre, Galileo, or Amadeus.
- Strong familiarity with team travel processes and TMC operations.
- In‑depth understanding of training KPIs and deliverables.
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver higher throughput and training effectiveness.
- Experience designing and delivering end‑to‑end process training in a travel‑related environment.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and e‑learning platforms.
- Excellent facilitation skills.
