Description
Leidos is looking for our next TS/SCI cleared Dev Ops Software Engineer to join a high energy team building and deploying a cutting edge technology stack in support of the DIA NMEC (National Media Exploitation Center) DOMEX Technology Platform (DTP). This role is part of a 10 year program supporting the DOMEX Data Discovery Platform (D3P) Modernization effort, where you'll contribute to mission critical capabilities alongside a collaborative, innovative, and growth oriented team.
While the majority of work is performed on site at our customer location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule and occasional opportunities for remote work.
What You'll DoAs a Dev Ops Software Engineer, you'll help design, deploy, and maintain a full stack, containerized microservices architecture. You'll also support systems administration, installation, configuration, and the broader adoption of Dev Ops best practices across cross functional engineering teams. In this fast paced environment, you'll collaborate closely with systems engineering, architecture, development, security, operations, and integration teams.
You will work with a multidisciplinary group of developers, integrators, and system administrators to:
- Deploy, triage, and maintain a production big data pipeline built on Kubernetes, Elasticsearch, and Kafka
- Enhance and maintain CI/CD pipelines and Dev Ops automation to accelerate development and improve reliability
- Design and support scalable, redundant infrastructure across physical and virtual environments
- Use Helm to configure Kubernetes deployments for new features and evolving requirements
- Partner with Systems Engineers to architect solutions for new capabilities
- Contribute technical input to engineering documentation, diagrams, and models
- Participate in Agile release planning, scrums, design sessions, bug triage, and related team activities
You're enthusiastic, collaborative, and comfortable working with teammates across a range of technical backgrounds. You also meet the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 8+ years of relevant experience; 6+ years with a Master's
- Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI with Polygraph
- Strong Linux proficiency
- Hands on experience with containers and Kubernetes
- Experience with CI/CD orchestration and Git Lab
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana
- Demonstrated success working in cross functional engineering environments
You'll stand out even more if you bring:
- Experience operating systems at scale
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies
- Development experience (Bash, Power Shell, SALT, Python, Groovy, Java, etc.)
- Experience supporting enterprise or production systems
- Familiarity with:
- Kafka or other messaging systems (AMQP, JMS)
- Kubernetes monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
- GPU based Kubernetes
- SALT for deployment automation
- Helm / Helmfile
- Nexus
