it infrastructure and operations unit

oversee and support information systems, including cloud infrastructure, network, servers, workstations, software, application development, and data services to support the department of state staff and citizens of colorado. It staff ensures that the cybersecurity tenants of confidentiality, integrity, and availability are integrated throughout the infrastructure.

unit responsibilities include infrastructure design and management of network, virtualization, and azure cloud services; maintenance of system hardware, software, and peripherals; procurement, installation, upgrades, enhancements, and maintenance of computer applications and system software; and desktop computer services, including peripherals. The team procures, configures, secures, installs, upgrades, enhances, and maintains the domain, including domain controllers, file servers, print servers, mail servers, accounting system servers, domain database servers, phone system servers, utility servers, etc.

The unit manages secure design, implementation, vulnerability management, and patching of systems, performing all actions within budgetary and legislative guidelines.

minimum qualifications

requires a total of six (6) years of relevant professional experience and/or education. Applicants must meet one of the following options:

option 1 – experience

six (6) years of professional experience in maintaining enterprise systems, including virtualization platforms, servers, azure cloud infrastructure, and disaster recovery while overseeing system security, performance, and resolving outages. One (1) year must be at the level of a work leader, staff authority, or unit supervisor in a related role.
