AV Service Technician - Crestron - North Area

Overview

The successful candidate will work from home and be dispatched to client sites in the North New Jersey area to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues found in board rooms and conference rooms. This is a contract, hybrid position based out of Trenton, NJ.

• Provide in‑person troubleshooting of audio‑video systems in executive board rooms and conference centers.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues with Crestron, Biamp, Extron, QSC, Cisco, Poly, Logi Tech, Luxul, Netgear, and other AV equipment.
• Reverse engineer legacy AV systems and debug newly built systems.
• Conduct preventative maintenance testing and prepare concise service reports or site surveys.
• Perform site surveys for service‑agreement quotes and manage multiple service projects.
• Lead and mentor junior or intermediate field‑service technicians.
• Maintain thorough documentation of service calls and provide feedback for product improvement.
• Perform cabling tasks, including crimping and soldering, and manage signal flow in low‑volume electrical concepts.

• Minimum of 7–8 years of AV integration and/or field‑service experience.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with Crestron and other advanced AV systems.
• Experience troubleshooting Extron, Biamp, QSC, X, Cisco, Poly, Logi Tech, Luxul, Netgear, Planar, Unilumen, LG, Samsung, Barco, and other video wall hardware.
• Intermediate to advanced AV networking skills and knowledge of signal‑flow and low‑voltage electrical concepts.
• Proficient in multimeter testing and research of replacement products.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Physical ability to stand, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and lift over 50 pounds.
• Education:
  
  Two‑year diploma from a college of technology or equivalent experience.
• CTS certification preferred.
