Software Engineer; Junior

Overview

Software Engineer (Junior) – US. Remote work with an active Secret clearance is required.

• Support development, integration, testing, and maintenance of web/CMS front ends, lightweight backend services, and dashboard data feeds in AWS Gov Cloud under senior supervision.
• Implement accessible front end components (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript) and CMS template changes compliant with Section 508/WCAG; assist with responsive and mobile-first rendering.
• Assist with basic API integration, data mapping for dashboards, and ETL/ingestion tasks into secure dev/test environments.
• Execute routine builds and deployments into dev/test following CI/CD runbooks; perform basic automated and manual test execution.
• Support incident triage for non-critical outages, gather logs, create defect tickets, and escalate per incident procedures.
• Familiar with: HTML/CSS/JavaScript, basic Python or Node.js, Git, and Jira.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Active Secret clearance required.
• Experience /
  
  Education:
  
  2 years relevant experience with BS/BA degree or 0 years with MS/MA or 6 years w/o a degree or 4 years with AS/AA.
• Certifications:
  
  Demonstrated capability within the Cyberspace IT workforce. Must satisfy Foundational Qualification standards via an approved industry certification (e.g., A+ or Network+) or documented equivalent military/educational training as defined in the DoD 8140 Qualification Matrix.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Eligible for Top Secret/SCI clearance.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty) or equivalent cloud certifications.
• Experience supporting large-scale government IT modernization programs.
• CompTIA Security+.

Work location:

Remote work with the ability to travel to the NCR when required.
