Location:

Herndon, VA.

• Monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and performing regular maintenance tasks such as applying updates, patches, and security fixes.
• Assist Network Engineers with configuring and managing network services, such as DNS, DHCP, and Active Directory, to facilitate communication and resource sharing within the network.
• Assist with implementing and managing backup strategies to ensure data protection and disaster recovery capabilities in case of system failures or data loss.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining security measures, including firewalls, endpoint protection, and access controls, to protect the system from unauthorized access, malware, and other security threats.
• Analyzing system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing optimizations to improve overall system efficiency and responsiveness.
• Maintaining accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps, as well as generating reports on system performance, security, and compliance.
• Participating in the planning and implementation of new systems, upgrades, and migrations, ensuring compatibility and adherence to best practices.
• Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies, industry trends, and security practices, and continuously improving skills and knowledge.

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g., Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.

• Requires an active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance (has been active in the past 24 months).
• U.S. Citizenship.
• 5+ years’ experience in System Administration across Windows and Linux environments.
• Experience managing and maintaining servers, workstations, and related infrastructure components.
• In‑depth knowledge and experience with various versions of Windows and Linux Servers, including installation, configuration, and administration.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and other core services.
• Advanced troubleshooting skills and problem‑solving abilities and ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong knowledge of security best practices.
• Experience with security auditing, vulnerability assessments, and incident response is also valuable.
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware, Hyper‑V, Proxmox, and/or AHV.

• Expertise in on‑premise virtualization (AHV, VMWare ESXi, Hyper‑V, etc.) and/or cloud expertise (AWS or Azure).
• Experience with VDI infrastructure, monitoring infrastructure, securing infrastructure.
• Cloud, INFOSEC, and/or any recent IT certifications.

Telework/Remote work currently not authorized.

Pay Range: $168,000 – $206,000.
