ROLE OVERVIEW

Shape the future of card payments architecture within a leading transformation programme

We are seeking an experienced IT Architect to join a major cards transformation initiative for a leading Polish bank. You will be responsible for designing robust, scalable integration architectures across SWITCH, acquiring platforms, and core banking systems. This role combines deep technical expertise with regulatory awareness, including PCI DSS scope definition and remediation planning, while working closely with business, technology, and compliance stakeholders.

Fluency in Polish is mandatory.

What You’ll Do

  • Define and document interfaces (ISO
8583, APIs, MQ, batch) and middleware architecture layers
  • Establish data, security, and integration standards including canonical models and error handling policies
  • Lead architecture discussions, workshops, and alignment across IT, business, and compliance teams
  • Support PCI DSS scope analysis, gap assessments, and remediation roadmap planning
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience designing integration architecture within large banking environments (Poland/EU)
  • Strong knowledge of microservices, event-driven architecture, and API-first integration approaches (REST, AsyncAPI, Kafka)
  • Experience working across complex ecosystems including core banking, ERP, fraud, and settlement systems
  • Solid understanding of PCI DSS, including CDE design, scope definition, and compliance requirements
  • Ability to translate complex architecture into clear documentation and actionable deliverables
Bonus Points For
  • Experience conducting PCI pre-audits, gap analysis, and remediation planning
  • Practical experience defining CDE boundaries and mapping environments to PCI DSS 4.0.1 requirements
  • Experience facilitating workshops, stakeholder interviews, and architecture assessments
  • Familiarity with acquiring domain processes and integrations
  • Experience working in large-scale transformation programmes within financial services
IMPORTANT
  • Fluent Polish (spoken and written) – mandatory
  • Good command of English for documentation and collaboration.
  • Availability to work on-site, with partial remote work - 3 days per week from the office.

We offer a flexible collaboration model based on a B2B contract, with the opportunity to work on diverse projects.
