Overview
The Configuration Engineer is a key member of the Digital Workplace team responsible for designing, deploying, and managing enterprise endpoint configuration platforms. The role focuses on managing and modernizing device management using Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM/MECM) and Microsoft Intune, while maintaining a working knowledge of Jamf for Apple device support.
Responsibilities- Design, deploy, and manage endpoint configurations across SCCM (MECM) and Microsoft Intune.
- Build, maintain, and optimize workstation base images (OS, drivers, and core applications).
- Create and manage application packaging, deployment, and update strategies across platforms.
- Coordinate and deploy applications ensuring all devices receive updates based on the active users in the system.
- Develop and implement configuration baselines, compliance policies, and security standards.
- Leverage scripting (Power Shell) and automation tools to streamline endpoint management.
- Monitor environment health and generate reports on compliance, patching, and system performance.
- Collaborate with other teams and vendors to develop and implement new solutions to meet business requirements.
- Ensure project completion by engaging additional support teams, including internal areas and third parties.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and training materials where needed.
- Provide after-hours support as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all policies and standards.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- Preferred 4–6 years of experience in endpoint configuration engineering focusing on SCCM/Intune.
- 4–6 years of experience providing application support in complex business environments (SaaS, Hybrid, On‑premise).
- 1–3 years of experience working in business‑critical environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven troubleshooting abilities.
- Passion for investigating and solving customer problems using advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to administer JAMF Pro Cloud Server for Apple device deployment.
- Experience provisioning and supporting virtual desktops.
- Ability to administer and troubleshoot Microsoft workplace applications.
- Basic understanding of certificates issued by authorities.
- Familiarity with ITSM systems such as Service Now.
- Solid understanding of Power Shell, SQL, and other basic scripting and query languages.
- Experience with Qualys Platform.

Work LocationThe role is primarily based at the Safelite Home Office (7400 Safelite Way, Columbus, OH 43235). Employees are required to work in the office at least four days a week, with work‑location arrangements subject to managerial approval and business needs.
