Position: Test Lead – Healthcare Domain (PBM / RxClaim)

About the role

As a Test Lead – Healthcare Domain (PBM / RxClaim), you will make an impact by driving end-to-end quality assurance strategy and execution for complex Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM) platforms, ensuring reliable, compliant, and high-quality technology solutions that support patient and provider outcomes.

You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering and Assurance team, working closely with product owners, architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and high-performing healthcare solutions.

In this role, you will:

Lead end-to-end test strategy, planning, and execution for complex PBM applications, ensuring timely and high-quality releases

Coordinate Agile testing activities across squads and sprints, maintaining traceability from requirements to test coverage and defect resolution using Jira and Test Rail

Define and optimize test strategies, plans, and governance frameworks, aligning with regulatory requirements and business priorities

Oversee functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing for core PBM workflows such as eligibility, formulary, claims adjudication, and member services

Drive API and REST interface testing to ensure reliable integration across healthcare platforms and partner systems

What you need to have to be considered

10+ years of experience in software testing, including leading testing efforts for enterprise Healthcare or PBM platforms

Strong expertise in RxClaim (AS400), EZQuery, and EZTest, with hands‑on experience in healthcare ecosystems

Proven ability to lead end-to-end QA lifecycle, including test strategy, planning, execution, and reporting

Experience managing Agile testing delivery using tools such as Jira and Test Rail

Strong understanding of PBM workflows including eligibility, formulary, claims adjudication, and member services

Hands‑on experience with API and REST services testing

Solid experience in test metrics, quality governance, defect management, and continuous improvement initiatives

Ability to collaborate with cross‑functional teams and influence quality early in the software development lifecycle

Experience in risk management, regulatory alignment, and quality assurance controls

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience

Experience driving large-scale program delivery, including ownership of timelines, quality, and KPIs

Strong exposure to test automation strategies, reusable test frameworks, and regression optimization

Proficiency in SQL testing and advanced API validation techniques

Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and leadership teams

Experience leading QA transformation and continuous improvement initiatives

Strong client engagement and stakeholder management skills with a focus on delivering business value

Excellent communication and presentation skills, including executive-level reporting

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $71,100 to $112,500, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
