BVA Bears IT Solutions is seeking an Okta / IAM Specialist (Full or Part Time). The Okta / IAM Specialist supports the Interim Reporting Information System (IRIS) Retirement Readiness initiative by providing guidance, validation, and troubleshooting support for Okta-based identity solutions implemented by agency teams. This role is responsible for ensuring secure and accurate user provisioning, attribute mapping, and access control as agencies transition from IRIS to modern identity platforms.
Three Okta / IAM Specialist resources will be deployed under a common role definition, aligned to specialized functional areas to support parallel transition waves, agency onboarding, and end-to-end identity integration for over 150 applications. Light Hybrid / Remote with periodic onsite presence for identity workshops, testing, and cutover support.
Identity Design Guidance & Validation (2 Resources)- Provide guidance on Okta configuration approaches
- Review attribute mappings and provisioning logic
- Validate alignment with IAM policies
- Validate identity workflows and authentication flows
- Support troubleshooting and defect resolution
- Guide agency teams during testing
- Provide advisory support during cutover
- Assist with resolution of identity issues
- Ensure continuity of user access during transition waves
- Provide guidance and validation support for Okta-based identity solutions
- Collaborate with data and integration teams to ensure alignment between identity, data, and system integrations
- Troubleshoot and resolve identity and access issues
- Maintain documentation including configuration worksheets, test results, and remediation logs
- Ensure security, compliance, and best practices are followed in all identity implementations
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4–7 years of experience in identity and access management or Okta administration
- Experience configuring Okta or similar IAM platforms
- Understanding of user provisioning, SSO, MFA, and directory services
- Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., SAML, OAuth)
- Experience in public-sector or multi-agency environments
- Experience supporting large-scale identity transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with HR systems and identity data integration
- Identity and access management expertise
- Attention to detail and security focus
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting
- Collaboration across technical and business teams
- Adaptability in fast-paced environments
