EOE Business Intelligence is an Enterprise Operations Enablement team focused on data, reporting and data science supporting Humana’s Service Operations. The team focuses on converting data to actionable insights for our business partners to reduce administrative costs and improve customer experience.

This position will work within the ESS Business Intelligence team, focusing on gathering and documenting data requirements for Data Science, Data Consulting, Data Visualization, and Reporting.

• Acquire, clean, and develop datasets from internal and external sources for business analysis and reporting.
• Acquire, validate, store, protect, and adhere to processes around data to ensure accessibility, reliability, and timeliness of data for its users.
• Develop and execute data architectures, policies, practices, and procedures that properly manage the full data lifecycle needs of an enterprise.

• Able to translate business needs to technical requirements in terms of data needs.

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 5 or more years of technical experience in data analysis, using ETL tools and developing ETL packages using SSIS.
• Experience working on a project through its entire life cycle, from design, coding, code review, and deployment.
• Expert architecture guidance on Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Modern BI architecture concepts and technologies using Azure Synapse Analytics and Snowflake.
• Experience implementing scalable and maintainable dimensional data models to meet business objectives, including construction of Azure Data Factory and automation of data architectures.
• Experience taking complex data and making it more accessible, understandable, and usable for leaders to derive insights.
• Proficiency in root‑cause analysis.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving skills and ability to provide solutions for business or data issues.
• Ability to work with clients, listen to their needs, and suggest potential solutions.
• Good presentation skills to conduct demonstrations with clients.
• Experience working with Databricks.

• Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Healthcare or managed care experience.
• Experience migrating data to the cloud (Azure Data Lake) and/or cloud‑based computing (MS Azure), Snowflake.
• Experience with Data Warehousing (Azure/SQL/Synapse), ETL (Azure Data Factory/SSIS), Microsoft Power Apps.
• Call Center and/or IVR experience a plus.

Remote US (Must be able to work Eastern Standard Time hours).

• At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
• Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
• Associates who live and work from home in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi‑weekly payment for their internet expense.
• Humana will provide telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for the position.
