The Architect role at Alteryx is a strategic and highly technical customer‑facing resource who combines deep expertise in data analytics, platform architecture, and prescriptive enablement. This role partners directly with customers to provide end‑to‑end engagement that drives analytic adoption, solution design, technical success, and sustained realized value from the Alteryx Platform.
As an Architect, you will serve as a technical thought leader and trusted advisor to our customers, guiding them through implementation, optimization, innovation, and scale. You will partner closely with Sales, Support, Product, Consulting, and Customer Success to align Alteryx solutions with our clients' evolving business needs and technology landscapes.
You will also collaborate across the Alteryx organization to identify and engage the right internal resources to ensure customers receive tailored, effective guidance aligned to their unique technical and business challenges.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as the primary technical and strategic point of contact for assigned customers throughout the duration of their subscription term
- Advise on best practices, data strategies, analytic maturity, and integrations that meet the needs of the customer business processes and objectives
- Guide clients in establishing Centers of Excellence, scalable governance frameworks, and analytic modernization initiatives
- Partner across internal teams to align the right expertise needed to support and manage technical outcomes and strategic initiatives
- Architect and guide complex deployments of Alteryx platforms (Designer, Server, AACP, Intelligence Suite, etc.)
- Lead environment planning and upgrades, minimizing downtime and risk
- Monitor and analyze customer usage patterns; identify opportunities for optimization and training
- Deliver enablement plans, documentation, and proactive recommendations to reduce friction and drive self‑sufficiency
- Maintain fluency in evolving cloud and analytics trends to inform customer strategies
- Share knowledge internally and externally, promoting technical excellence across Alteryx and our customer ecosystem
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in a customer‑facing technical role (Solutions Architect, TAM, Consultant, Presales Engineer, etc.)
- Demonstrated success managing enterprise client relationships and leading analytics/BI deployments
- Proven expertise with Alteryx Designer and Server;
Alteryx Core Certification required - Strong knowledge of data platforms and database technologies (SQL, RDBMS, Snowflake, Databricks, etc.)
- Familiarity with cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP); cloud certifications a plus
- Excellent communication and presentation skills across technical and business audiences, including executive stakeholders
- Experience with visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik) and scripting languages (SQL, shell, Python) preferred
- Ability to travel up to 20%
- Alteryx product certifications
- Experience with the Alteryx Platform (including Cloud)
- BI/Dashboard development and data engineering experience
- Cloud and data architecture certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect)
- Experience with customer lifecycle tools (Salesforce, Gainsight, etc.)
Alteryx is committed to fair, equitable, and transparent compensation. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as your relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
The base salary range for this role in the United States is $120,000–139,400 plus Bonus.
In addition, you may be eligible for additional compensation. Employees may also be eligible for a wide range of other benefits, including medical, retirement, financial, wellness, time off, employee discounts, and others.
