Overview
The Governor's Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking a Desktop Senior Technical Analyst to provide Tier II and III desktop support to a diverse user base, including state employees, contractors, interns, vendors, and some county users. This role will lead technical work and act as a Subject Matter Expert, evaluating, implementing, and managing support requests beyond the Service Desk level.

This recruitment is open only to current employees of the Office of Information Technology for the State of Colorado. Contractors engaged at OIT do not qualify as employees.
Responsibilities- Provide resolution and assistance for current operating systems (Windows 10 and Windows 11).
- Deploy new or rebuilt computers based on OIT and agency security and operational policies.
- Install Enterprise Configuration Management Tool platform.
- Perform USB‑based installations.
- Execute InTunes‑based imaging installations.
- Support desktop, laptop, and tablet users; troubleshoot Microsoft, Adobe, and other production software.
- Provide resolution, assistance, and limited training to standard supported applications: productivity software, internet browsers, antivirus‑security programs, and proprietary applications.
- Receive and log service incidents into the ticketing system.
- Assist other IT teams (Security, Server, Network, Voice, etc.) with additional duties when necessary, including network troubleshooting and file server management.
Five (5) years of professional experience in an occupational field related to desktop support or a professional service desk environment.
Substitutions- Additional appropriate education replaces experience on a year‑for‑year basis but cannot completely substitute for all qualifications.
- Training or certification related to the responsibilities is credited toward substitution for experience or education but does not fully substitute.
- If the minimum qualifications include a degree, additional paid or unpaid experience can substitute for education on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Experience deploying and supporting Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10, Android, Apple iOS).
- Aptitude to explain technical matters verbally and in writing to non‑technical personnel.
- SCCM experience.
OIT employees must comply with screening procedures at state agency locations. A pre‑employment background check will be conducted; post‑employment checks may include polygraph, fingerprint‑based criminal history search, reference checks, and a drug test. The position may require travel within the specified geographic area and on‑call duties.
Relocation to Colorado is required for all candidates; remote work must be performed in Colorado. Candidates from out of state may be considered but must relocate and reside in Colorado on the first day.
