Systems Administrator, IT Support, Technical Support
The role under consideration is an Information Technology Generalist 2 responsible for supporting the agency’s enterprise document management and workflow system, including Doc Finity and Iris Xtract. The position involves problem solving, user support, and driving system improvements to ensure reliable workflow and data capture across the organization.
DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis position ensures the strong performance and security of the imaging system that supports financial operations throughout the Commonwealth. The role provides technical guidance, system support, and coordination across multiple technology areas.
Responsibilities include:
- System Administration:
Manage imaging system components, servers, databases, and related tools. - Database Oversight:
Maintain SQL databases, monitor performance, and support backup and recovery processes. - Server Configuration:
Configure web servers, manage security settings and support system integrations. - Documentation Updates:
Create and maintain clear records of system procedures, configurations, and troubleshooting steps. - Security Management:
Maintain user permissions, support Active Directory and ensure secure access to system resources. - Technical Support:
Provide advanced troubleshooting, guide users, and assist with imaging and scanning equipment needs.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday–Friday with a 30‑minute lunch break.
- Telework:
Option to work from home part‑time, two days per week, subject to change. - Salary:
Non‑negotiable starting salary in some cases.
- One year as an Information Technology Generalist 1, Applications Developer 1, or Network Specialist 1.
- Four years of information technology experience with one year of technical IT experience in applications development or maintenance, network operation or maintenance, web site development or design, or other IT support/administration services.
- Two years of IT experience with one year of technical IT experience as above and an associate’s degree in any IT field.
- Bachelor’s degree in any IT field.
- Equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree are considered to meet the educational requirements.
- Must meet the Pennsylvania residency requirement.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Must pass a background investigation and meet CJIS compliance requirements.
- Pennsylvania law provides employment preference for qualified veterans for many state and local government jobs.
