Overview
The Information Technology Generalist Administrator 2 role offers an exciting chance to guide critical systems that support the Pennsylvania Lottery. This position gives you the opportunity to perform a variety of supervisory, administrative, and consultative work directing staff involved in highly advanced technical and administrative information technology work. You will serve as administrator, technical consultant, and resident expert in the design and monitoring of applications, networking, database systems testing, and implementation plans.
Descriptionof Work
- Systems Analysis:
Conduct studies of existing technology methods and recommend improvements based on findings. - Technical Guidance:
Serve as a key consultant on application, network, and database design and monitoring. - Project Leadership:
Set development priorities, manage schedules, and oversee implementation of technical projects. - Resource Management:
Manage fiscal needs, prepare specifications, and determine contractor requirements. - Security Oversight:
Direct security and disaster recovery efforts and ensure compliance with statewide policies. - Staff Supervision:
Train, guide, and evaluate staff while ensuring that work aligns with organizational needs.
- Full‑time employment.
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch.
- Limited after‑hours support may be required.
- Telework:
Part‑time work from home is possible if you have a securely configured high‑speed Internet connection and an approved location within Pennsylvania. - Salary:
In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
- One year as an Information Technology Generalist Administrator 1, Senior Applications Developer, Database Administrator 1, Data Administrator 1, Information Security Specialist 2, or Network Administrator 1 (Commonwealth job titles or equivalent Federal Government job titles, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Six years of information technology experience that includes three years of technical information technology experience in applications development or maintenance, network operation or maintenance, web site development or design, database maintenance or development, data analysis and data model development, administration of information technology security programs, or other information technology support/administration services; or
- Four years of information technology experience that includes three years of technical information technology experience in the same areas, plus an associate’s degree in any information technology field; or
- Two years of technical information technology experience in the same areas, plus a bachelor’s degree in any information technology field; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
- You must meet the PA residency requirement.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
- This position will have access to Federal Tax Information (FTI) and is subject to the provisions of IRS Publication 1075, which requires an enhanced background check before employment. This includes a fingerprint‑based federal record check, a PA State Police clearance, checks of local law enforcement agencies for the last five years, and citizenship/residency verification.
