The Principal Security Architect is the technical authority for the State of Wisconsin's enterprise security fabric. This is a definitive expert responsible for designing the secure architecture of our hybrid-cloud platform, enabling development velocity, and ensuring resilience against sophisticated threats and ensure security is an integrated and automated component of our technological ecosystem. As a subject matter expert this position is responsible for the architecture, design, management, and standardization of the enterprise IT security architectural frameworks to set security strategy and establish guardrails to align IT systems with the goals, requirements, and risk tolerance of the enterprise.

Salary Information
Starting salary for the IS Enterprise Technical Services Consultant Administrator (07-32) be between $41.03 - $56.00 hourly. Salary will be determined by applicant qualifications. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
Job Details
Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.
All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin. Interviews may be conducted onsite in Madison WI. Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have:
* Experience creating security architectures for complex IT systems.
* Experience working in/with Cybersecurity in a federated IT organization.
* Experience working with and securing cloud solutions such as Entra, Azure, Amazon Web Services, M365, Google Cloud Platform.
Well-qualified applicants will have:
* Experience in securing CI/CD pipelines and containers.
* Security certification(s) from accredited IT certification providers or commensurate professional experience
