The Senior Cyber Security Engineer develops and tests information security tools, applications, and system solutions deployed in Humana. They oversee the design engineering and testing processes for Humana EIP products, work with stakeholders to drive products from design to volume production release, and handle moderately complex to complex issues requiring depth evaluation of variable factors. The role shapes department strategy, makes technical decisions, and exercises latitude on objectives and approaches.
Responsibilities- Perform engineering of data protection products, e.g., Privacera.
- Deploy solutions on Azure and GCP clouds.
- Create CI/CD pipelines on Azure.
- Conduct risk assessments and enhance the security solutions lifecycle (evaluation, purchase, build, technical policy configuration, integration into cloud environments, operations).
- Contribute to Data Protection security solutions R&D, evaluating cutting‑edge tools to support strategic security capabilities.
- Act as a subject‑matter expert for existing security controls with a focus on Privacera.
- Identify needs for new security technology solutions, design, review, and collaborate on their deployment.
- Stay informed about latest security developments, mitigation strategies, threats, tools, attack vectors, and preventative measures.
- Participate in new products or technology solutions that include ROI, total cost of ownership, and/or cost‑benefit analyses.
- Conduct technical proof‑of‑concepts.
- Hands‑on experience in automation (Power Shell and/or Python, beginner to intermediate).
- 3+ years experience in Security & Major Incident response.
- 3+ years experience in Azure Dev Ops environment.
- 3+ years experience in Azure monitoring.
- Ability to write shell scripts.
- Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of project sponsors and key stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication at all levels.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of SDLC.
- Strong experience in Agile environments.
- IT industry certifications (Microsoft Certifications On‑Prem or Cloud, Cisco, CISSP, CEH, Azure, Amazon AWS, GCP, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
- Experience performing security operations functions in cloud environments (Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with common security controls in the enterprise (Firewall, Proxy, AV, SIEM, etc.).
- Extensive knowledge of security issues, techniques, and implications across multiple computer platforms.
- Knowledge of Access Controls, Data Loss Prevention (DLP).
- Experience implementing microservices architecture with Python and Kubernetes, and managing CI/CD initiatives.
- Ability to develop and maintain scalable applications using Python adhering to enterprise coding standards and security guidelines.
Must have a high‑speed DSL or cable modem for a home office. Associates or contractors who live and work from home in California will be reimbursed for internet expenses. Minimum standard speed for optimal performance: 25

Mbps upload. Satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed. A dedicated space free of interruptions to protect PHI/HIPAA information is required.
This is a remote position; occasional travel to Humana’s offices for training or meetings may be required.
Pay RangeAnnual salary: $117,600–$161,700 (may vary by location and qualifications). Eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
