IT Support, Cybersecurity, IT Business Analyst
Position Description
The Office of Information Technology (OIT) is seeking temporary interns with 10–35 hours per week, working Monday–Friday during standard business hours. Interns may have some remote work flexibility but must be on‑site in Annapolis, Maryland.
Currently filling for Fall 2026.
Internship OpportunitiesOur internships cover a range of IT disciplines. Candidates will work on real projects, gain experience across the software development lifecycle, and contribute to county operations.
Enterprise Application SolutionsWork in a team developing and maintaining custom web‑ and mobile‑based software. Responsibilities include requirements analysis, code development in Java, React.js, Node.js, GraphQL, React Native, testing, and deployment.
Help DeskApply classroom knowledge in a practical setting, identifying and recommending technology solutions for the county’s PCs, performing tech refresh cycles, and providing support recommendations.
AdministrativeAssist with day‑to‑day administrative and clerical tasks in an IT environment, gaining hands‑on experience with IT processes.
Cyber SecurityWork with the Anne Arundel County cybersecurity officer to develop security policies, conduct controls assessments, validate system configurations, identify weaknesses, perform vulnerability scans, report findings, and learn about risk management and incident response.
Project ManagementAssisting project managers with processes from initiation to implementation.
Responsibilities include:
- Build workflows, process models, and business cases
- Translate business needs into technology implementation plans
- Monitor schedules and collect status reports
- Develop an understanding of project management principles and techniques
- Work independently or in a team, with strong communication and organizational skills
- Use office productivity applications, preferably Google apps
Assist with support functions for the telecommunications process, including customer service, data management, VOIP deployment, phone support, and research/data entry.
Minimum Qualifications- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, or a related field
- Interest or familiarity with the technologies listed for the specific program
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
