Position: Azure Architect (Remote)

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Architect with 15 to 20 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in Azure Data Lake Store Azure Dev Ops and Databricks Workflows. Experience in the Utilities domain is a plus. This role operates on a hybrid work model with day shifts and does not require travel.

The Principal Architect will play a crucial role in shaping our data architecture and driving technological advancements.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable data architecture solutions using Azure Data Lake Store.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of data workflows utilizing Databricks Workflows.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team on best practices for Azure Dev Ops.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of data solutions across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data architecture and workflows.
  • Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct regular reviews and audits of data systems to identify areas for improvement.
  • Drive innovation by staying updated with the latest advancements in data technologies and methodologies.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and training sessions to upskill team members on Azure and Databricks technologies.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data-related issues to ensure high availability and reliability of systems.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning of data initiatives to align with the companys goals and objectives.
Qualifications
  • Possess extensive experience in Azure Data Lake Store Azure Dev Ops and Databricks Workflows.
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Exhibit excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Show a proven track record of successfully leading data architecture projects.
  • Have a deep understanding of data security and compliance requirements.
  • Display a proactive approach to learning and adopting new technologies.
  • Experience in the Utilities domain is a plus.
  • Hold relevant certifications in Azure and data technologies.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work model.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Ability to mentor and guide team members.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Certifications Required
  • Microsoft Certified:
    Azure Solutions Architect Expert Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate
Salary and Other Compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $110,000 – $ 150,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
