Senior Cloud Architect — GovCloud & Secure Cloud Solutions

Position Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to lead the design, implementation, and management of robust cloud architectures that align with our clients' business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in cloud platforms, a strong understanding of security best practices, and a proven track record of delivering scalable, cost-effective, and secure cloud solutions.

• Cloud Architecture Design: Develop and implement enterprise-level cloud architectures, ensuring scalability, security, and alignment with organizational objectives. Primarily with AWS Gov Cloud region resources.

  Engage with clients and internal teams to gather technical requirements, define system design standards, and ensure solutions meet business needs.
• Security and Compliance: Assess and enhance cloud architectures and systems' security posture by applying secure cloud computing principles.
• Technical Leadership: Provide guidance on cloud adoption strategies, cloud management, and monitoring, acting as a subject matter expert for integrating advanced cloud technologies.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on the latest cloud technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive innovation and improve cloud infrastructure and operations.

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 8 years in IT, with at least 5 years in designing and implementing cloud solutions in large organizations.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP; strong understanding of networking, virtualization, and multi-tenancy. Proficiency in automation with Terraform, Cloud Formation and other automation methods. IaC (Infrastructure as Code) as the primary method of infrastructure management.
• Security Acumen: Experience with cloud security frameworks, compliance standards, and implementing secure cloud architectures. Be familiar with FedRAMP, NIST 800 series, and DISA STIG/SRG.

  Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive strategic cloud initiatives.

• Certifications: Relevant industry certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Linux+, or any related certificates for DoD 8570/8140 work force requirements.
• Hybrid work role with Patuxent River, MD onsite and remote work. Inquire for more details.
