Overview
Data Engineer ation:
San Francisco, CA (Hybrid) or Remote (within NYC, LA, or SF metro areas).
The Role
As a Data Engineer at Regard, you will build and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure that turn raw data into metrics and insights driving product decisions and research. You ll work closely with Engineering and Product teams to develop and improve data pipelines, support analytics and machine learning initiatives, and ensure quality and availability of critical datasets.
About RegardRegard is an AI-powered Proactive Documentation platform advancing healthcare delivery by reviewing patient data in EHR to recommend diagnoses and clinical evidence. The platform drafts notes before physician consultation, improving care quality, reducing physician burden, and enhancing hospital finances.
Tech StackData: S3, Apache Iceberg, EMR, PySpark, Dagster, Kubernetes, Clickhouse, PostgreSQL, FastAPI, Metabase
Responsibilities- Build and maintain data pipelines for analytics, ML, and research
- Develop and improve data models and transformations
- Partner with engineering teams to identify and resolve data quality issues
- Support operation, monitoring, and maintenance of data platform
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Research teams
- Investigate pipeline failures and data inconsistencies
- Optimize data processing and storage for performance and cost
- BS in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years in data engineering role
- Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and models in production
- Proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (PySpark)
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (AWS preferred)
- Practical experience with LLM-assisted development
- Willingness to participate in on-call operational support
- Experience with Apache Iceberg, AWS Athena, Dagster, Clickhouse, PostgreSQL, FastAPI, or Metabase
- Experience with data quality, monitoring, and observability
- Familiarity with healthcare data (HIPAA, de-identification, OMOP CDM)
- Experience building/ supporting ML pipelines
- Experience in fast-paced startup environment
- Must be authorized to work in the US without visa sponsorship
- Must be within NYC, LA, or San Francisco metro areas
- In-office Tuesdays and Thursdays; more frequent during onboarding
- Relocation assistance provided for non-NYC residents
- Flexibility to work from outside home office up to 6 weeks/year
- Compensation Range: $140K - $175K
- Eligible for equity
