Location: Town of Vermont

IT Internal Audit Manager

Responsible for planning and executing information technology audits, providing subject matter expertise on IT for the internal audit team, and assessing risks and controls related to Ensemble’s information systems, IT infrastructure, operations, and cybersecurity programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and adapt the annual IT audit plan to address the company’s most significant IT risks.
  • Create and execute IT audit plans with clearly defined scopes, objectives, desired outcomes, and corrective action plans with timelines.
  • Prepare concise and accurate audit reports that summarize the audit purpose, scope, findings, and recommendations, including root cause analysis.
  • Monitor management‑provided corrective action plans (CAP) and ensure timely implementation and effectiveness.
  • Assist with integrated audit engagements, assessing relevant IT risks, controls, and ensuring reports are accurate and concise.
  • Contribute to the implementation of policies and procedures regarding department operations and activities.
  • Assist with the development of staff orientation agendas and conduct timely orientation of new team members.
  • Assist in identifying professional development content for the Internal Audit team and other teams.
  • Assess Internal Audit department tools and processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain awareness of industry‑wide IT risks, legislative developments, emerging technology trends, and audit methodology changes.
  • Evaluate IT general controls (ITGCs) across logical access, change management, system operations, including identity and access management (IAM) and privileged access controls.
  • Evaluate data governance and data integrity controls, including data pipelines, integrations, and reporting accuracy.
  • Support audits of cloud environments, data platforms, and modern architectures (e.g., data lakes, APIs, automation workflows).
  • Participate in AI governance and emerging technology audits and assess risks related to model usage, data privacy, and control design.

Qualifications
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in IT audit or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of people leadership experience.
  • Preferred certifications: CISA, CRISC, CGEIT, CISM, CISSP, CIA, CHIAP, CRCR.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle information systems (Epic, Meditech, other RCM solutions).
  • Proficient computer skills, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and data extraction tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI‑enabled tools and automation to enhance audit planning, testing, and reporting.
  • Experience evaluating AI‑related risks (data privacy, model governance, control design).
  • Experience with audit management platforms (e.g., Audit Board) and technology to automate workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within audit activities.
