Overview
The Cloud Services Engineer 2 provides technical expertise in the management and support of cloud-based platforms across public and hybrid cloud environments. The role is responsible for testing, analyzing, and supporting cloud infrastructure and services including compute, storage, networking, and platform services within cloud providers. This position requires US citizenship for a government contract.
Responsibilities- Monitor cloud platform performance, availability, and cost efficiency across enterprise environments.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve technical issues related to cloud service failures, performance degradation, and system integrity.
- Influence department strategy and make decisions on moderately complex to complex technical approaches for cloud solutions with minimal direction.
- Collaborate with Level 2 Cloud and Infrastructure teams to gain expertise in cloud platforms, tools, and processes.
- Conduct Level 1 health checks during cloud service incidents and outages, ensuring timely detection, triage, and escalation of critical issues.
- Review and approve changes impacting cloud production environments, ensuring adherence to governance, security, and operational standards.
- Drive Level 1 and Level 1.5 participation in Problem Management to support root‑cause analysis and continuous service improvement.
- Support and enhance cloud observability (monitoring, logging, alerting) to improve Time to Detect and Time to Resolve.
- Facilitate updates to operational documentation, runbooks, and SOPs to ensure accuracy and scalability of support processes.
- Participate in cloud implementation and migration initiatives, partnering with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable and supportable cloud solutions.
- Review and approve operational activities within Level 1 and Level 1.5 cloud support domains.
- Contribute to cloud strategy, governance, cost optimization, and platform standardization efforts.
- Identify opportunities to leverage automation, Infrastructure as Code, and emerging cloud technologies to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Monitor and report on cloud utilization, performance metrics, cost management, and operational KPIs to leadership and stakeholders.
- Execute continuous improvement initiatives including automation, process optimization, and self‑service capabilities.
- US citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Infrastructure Operations.
- Experience supporting public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Experience with cloud services including compute, storage, networking, identity, and monitoring.
- Passion for improving consumer experiences in a continuously evolving environment.
- Master’s degree in a technical field.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator/Engineer, Google Cloud Engineer).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, Cloud Formation).
- Experience with automation and scripting (Power Shell, Python).
- Experience with hybrid cloud and container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker).

- Hours:
40 per week. - Pay range: $89,000 – $121,400 per year (subject to experience, location, and performance). Eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
- Travel may be required for training or meetings.
