Position: Data Analyst/ Curam

Remote Data Analyst (Curam) - US Government Contract — Newark

Remote Status: This role is fully remote and US-based, which means you must be authorized to work in the United States. While the posting says “Anywhere in the World,” the client is a US government program dealing with sensitive health and financial subsidy data, which typically requires US residency, citizenship, or a valid work visa (e.g., H-1B, TN, or EAD). Pure digital nomad arrangements from non-US countries are unlikely to be permissible given the government data privacy and security requirements.

Schedule & Timezone: The description does not specify fixed hours, but working with a US government client program and an Executive Steering Committee strongly implies alignment with US Eastern or Central business hours. Async‑only flexibility is minimal — expect regular meetings and stakeholder coordination during standard US business hours.

Compensation vs. Nomad Cost of Living: At $73–$81/hour (~$152k–$168k annually at 40 hrs/week), this is strong compensation:

  • Lisbon, Portugal: Monthly costs ~$2,000–$2,800 — this salary offers exceptional quality of life, but EU residency requirements and US client security constraints complicate true nomad status.
  • Bangkok, Thailand: Monthly costs ~$1,200–$1,800 — very comfortable financially, but timezone offset (UTC+7) makes US business hour alignment difficult.
  • Medellín, Colombia: Monthly costs ~$1,200–$1,800 and only UTC-5, making it the most practical nomad base if US residency status is maintained.

Bottom Line: Best suited for US-based remote workers. The government data security context and stakeholder‑heavy nature of the role make it ill‑suited for a location‑independent, fully async lifestyle.
