Data Scientist

Canon USA in Melville, NY is currently seeking a developing professional to join our team. This position works across the company with all business units and departments to gather, clean, and analyze data from internal and external sources. You will use programming, math, and statistical skills to interpret data, develop business insights, and create predictive results that influence executive decisions.

This is a full-time, hybrid role requiring in-office attendance Monday through Wednesday, with the option to work from home for the remainder of the week.

• Advanced Analytics & Machine Learning: Analyze complex marketing and consumer behavior problems using internal (CRM, web, sales) and external data. Build, evaluate, and deploy predictive models (e.g., attribution, customer lifetime value, churn) using Python and GCP (Vertex AI).
• Data Engineering & Cloud Databases: Construct optimized queries and manage complex datasets using Big Query. Automate pipelines for large, disparate marketing data streams.
• Self-Serve Analytics & Visualization: Empower cross-functional teams by building dynamic dashboards in Tableau to translate complex models into actionable insights.
• Generative AI & Automation: Guide the adoption of Gemini and Gen AI. Leverage Google Workspace Studio and NotebookLM to synthesize marketing intelligence.
• AI Agents & Custom Bots: Design and showcase specialized AI bots to scale tasks like copywriting and campaign analysis.
• Workspace Automation: Facilitate migration to Google Workspace and automate cross-app workflows using Google Apps Script.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Gather, clean, and preprocess large datasets. Forecast trends, identify patterns, and provide prescriptive insights.
• Experimentation: Conduct A/B testing and design experiments to validate hypotheses.
• Data Governance: Ensure data consistency, reliability, and validation.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Mathematics, or a relevant field required.
• 3 to 5 years of related experience.
• Strong statistical and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
• Experience with machine learning frameworks (Tensor Flow, Scikit-learn) and big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
• Proven experience with Generative AI, NotebookLM, and Google Workspace Studio.
• Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Salary Range: $69,300 - $103,770 annually.
