Job Description
As an Embedded Sr. Sales Engineer, you are responsible for bringing elite technical expertise and experience as a subject matter expert in solving some of the most complex challenges our customers face in protecting their people, property, and business interests. Your embedded role within Convergint Technologies will engage senior sales leaders to provide our shared customers with positive solutions based outcomes leveraging the latest in generative AI as well as other leading public safety and physical security technologies.
Your contributions and key position ensure that the solutions we provide keep our customers at their best in the moments that matter.
- Engage in major opportunities by collaborating with Convergint and MSI sales teams to provide technical solutions expertise to stakeholders.
- Capitalize on meetings by delivering world‑class product demonstrations and compelling sales or technical presentations to both C‑Level and front‑line decision makers.
- Understand, promote, and demonstrate the multi‑product portfolio of MSI Ecosystem solutions.
- Provide design consultation, including quoting, system design, best‑practice system architectures, bill of materials development, and compliance vetting.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and Convergint teams through technical thought leadership.
- Collaborate with Technical Support and Convergint Service leadership in post‑sales guidance when business appropriate.
- Act as a conduit for feedback from Convergint colleagues, end‑customers, and other stakeholders to product management, marketing, development, and other appropriate groups.
- Serve as a primary technical resource for Convergint hosted roadshows and industry events.
- Collaborate closely with Convergint Technology Center’s (CTC) on subscription and license administration across all MSI products and services.
- Create additional collateral, including, but not limited to, training materials, how‑to videos, and technical documentation.
- Proactively seek out both internal and external training opportunities to stay current on MSI products and services as well as key complementary technologies, industry trends, and relevant certifications.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
- Self‑motivated individual with a positive attitude that demonstrates passion and enthusiasm for technology with an aptitude for customer satisfaction.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills with deep knowledge of IP networking architecture, protocols, and security.
- Experience with designing, implementing, or troubleshooting large multi‑technology platform environments.
- Takes on and advocates for personal projects or initiatives and frequently volunteers to take on tasks and responsibilities outside of typical daily responsibilities.
- Excellent time management and consistently meets deadlines with focus and purpose.
- Strong knowledge of or experience utilizing MSI Video Security & Access Control products is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to self‑manage working as an individual contributor or as part of a collaborative group.
- Candidates with technical certifications in the following areas or equivalent experience preferred (cloud computing, networking, storage technologies, cybersecurity, API/SDKs).
- Experience working directly with large strategic partners, or Convergint Technologies at a national level is highly desirable.
50%+ US and/or Canada with potential for limited international.
Target Base Salary Range$120,000 - $148,400 USD. Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
Basic Requirements- 3+ years’ experience in a sales engineering or pre‑sales design role for video/access control products manufacturer.
