Position: IE Automation Quality Engineer (Integrated Eligibility, SNAp, TANF))| TELECOMMUTE / MN / NJ

Job Opportunity

Optum has partnered with the state of West Virginia government to develop, implement, and run the state eligibility system for determining social services access for qualified citizens. A couple different components for the project are Integrated Eligibility which include (SNAP, TANF) and Child Support (specific - Child Support and Child Welfare are separate).

Candidates should be able to describe which modules of CS or IE they have completed automated testing. If candidates cannot provide specific modules they may not be a great fit. Candidates should be able to explain the concepts of these programs in laymans terms, if not may not be a great fit.

Team is focusing on automation specifically. If they are manual testers only they will likely be rejected UNLESS they are an eligibility expert in which case please ping me. Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkins envt.

Ideal background are those that have worked on multiple implementations and state projects directly for states across the country and/or consulting firms like Deloitte / Accenture Anything under six months will be red flags for projects as these are longer-term engagements.

Must have strong IE (SNAP, TANF, CW/CS) background and Test Automation.

Prescreening Questions:

1. Describe your understanding of the eligibility system you were testing.

2. What was the size, scope, and importance of the project?

3. Describe your greatest accomplishment as part of this team and why was it meaningful to the project?

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and identify risk, issues, for the testing scope
  • Participate as needed in specific testing activities (reviews, walk-thru’s etc)
  • Create test scenarios, test cases (detailed steps and expected behavior) and upload to test management tools (ALM, Rally)
  • Ensure that correct traceability is established for linking test cases with business requirements
  • Identify and setup test data needed to support test case execution
  • Perform test cases and create defects for failed test cases
  • Document test results
  • Where needed, provide UAT support (explain tested functionality to the UAT testers)
  • Participate in defect triage calls and ensure that the defined defect management process is followed
  • Escalate issues and risks to Test Leads and Managers
  • Assist with finalization of test closure activities such as lesson learnt, defect/execution trends
  • Consolidate Test execution status and report out progress to Test Leads

Required:

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, ALM, SQL, Share Point
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years large scale program management, with emphasis on QA and QA practices.
  • 5+ years Healthcare Industry experience
  • Demonstrated communication/presentation skills.
