Storage Engineer

The Unconventional Compute team at Exxon Mobil is looking for a new team member to fill a Senior Storage contractor role at the Exxon Mobil campus in Spring, TX. This role will entail providing storage design, implementation, and support for company sites in the Americas region. Some of the activities that will be performed includes implementation, replacement and support of servers (HCI), storage, backup, and virtualization (VMware) solutions.

Must have excellent service skills to provide support for IT employees/customers in our district/field offices. Experience working in the oil/gas industry is preferred. As part of this role, you will be expected to report our Spring office daily and participate in a rotating on-call support schedule.

Team Overview:
The Unconventional Compute team at Exxon Mobil supports the storage (HCI) environment at the district and field offices located throughout the United States. We work primarily work with Net App storage and the Net App tool suite. Our team is located in Houston and we are starting to expand our presence to Argentina.

Technical

Skills:

• Minimum 5 years experience with storage (Net App preferred) and VMware
• Understanding of network fundamentals (VLANS, IP addressing, subnet masks, layer 2 & 3 routing)
• Automation skills are a preferred (Power Shell, Python, Ansible, Atomic, etc)
• Experience with Linux
• Working knowledge of:
• NFS
• ISCSI
• DNS (Infoblox/Blox One are a bonus)
