TEGNA is seeking an Entry‑Level Digital Ad Operations Specialist to support local broadcast stations with their digital advertising operations. Location:
Hybrid role – work from home with Tuesdays and Thursdays in the downtown Dallas office.
As a Digital Ad Operations Specialist, you will work exclusively with TEGNA properties across various ad‑serving platforms and order management systems. You’ll help manage CTV (Connected TV) and digital ad campaigns from setup to delivery, ensuring they run smoothly and meet performance goals.
This position involves troubleshooting, campaign optimization, and quality assurance, making it ideal for individuals with strong technical skills and attention to detail. This role includes being part of an on‑call rotation after proper training.
Responsibilities- Digital Workflow & Execution:
- Master the digital workflow between business units and Ad Operations.
- Become proficient in ad servers and order management systems, with a focus on CTV campaign execution.
- Campaign Scheduling & Creative Management:
- Set up and schedule digital ad campaigns accurately, including CTV‑specific ad formats and delivery methods.
- Ensure proper execution of creative assets by understanding ad specs, templates, and ad tags (e.g., VAST/VPAID tags, dynamic ad insertion).
- Support & Troubleshooting:
- Provide urgent support to broadcast stations and internal stakeholders, particularly for CTV ad delivery issues.
- Identify and resolve ad performance issues through detailed troubleshooting and quality assurance (QA).
- Email & Workflow Management:
- Send daily reports to stations, communicate technical information clearly, and manage service‑level agreements (SLAs).
- Consistently monitor email inboxes and respond to requests promptly.
- Campaign Monitoring & Optimization:
- Track campaign delivery and apply optimization strategies, such as CTV fill‑rate management, frequency capping, and ad podding.
- Ensure compliance with rate card adherence and revenue margins.
- Customer Service:
- Collaborate with vendors and stations while maintaining a customer‑friendly attitude and providing excellent service.
- Reporting & Analytics:
- Generate reports on campaign performance, including CTV analytics (viewability, completion rates, and ad delivery metrics).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university/college or a technical‑related discipline required.
- 1-2 years of experience in ad serving platforms or ad trafficking. (3-5 years of practical experience in digital technology or advertising can substitute for a degree.)
- Hands‑on experience with CTV ad trafficking, SSAI (Server‑Side Ad Insertion), and VAST/VPAID tags is a plus.
- Strong technical skills and the ability to function effectively in a technical role.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Basic knowledge of Flash, HTML, and JavaScript is beneficial.
- Experience with CTV ad platforms such as Free Wheel, Publica, or Google Ad Manager (GAM) is a plus.
