This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Lead Cloud Engineer based in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of cloud engineering, financial optimization, and large‑scale infrastructure operations, supporting enterprise environments that demand both performance and cost efficiency. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud cost management frameworks across complex, multi‑platform environments. The position focuses on building visibility into cloud spend while enabling engineering teams to make data‑driven, cost‑aware decisions.
You will partner with Dev Ops, engineering, and business stakeholders to enforce governance, tagging standards, and Fin Ops best practices across global systems. A strong emphasis is placed on automation, observability, and continuous improvement of cloud financial operations. This is a highly technical and collaborative role in a fast‑moving environment where cloud scale, efficiency, and accountability are critical. The position is remote within the U.S., with occasional travel expectations.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to provide visibility into cloud usage, cost trends, and optimization opportunities.
- Establish and enforce cloud governance standards, including tagging policies, cost allocation frameworks, and resource accountability processes.
- Automate cloud cost management workflows and integrate Fin Ops tools into CI/CD pipelines to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Monitor cloud environments 24/7 to identify cost anomalies, inefficiencies, and optimization opportunities across platforms.
- Develop and implement Fin Ops strategies, including project plans, risk assessments, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Define and document best practices, operational procedures, and support models for cloud financial operations.
- Collaborate with engineering and Dev Ops teams to implement RBAC/ABAC models and manage IAM access controls securely.
- Mentor and cross‑train team members on cloud cost optimization tools, practices, and emerging technologies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, reporting accuracy, and financial accountability in cloud environments.
- 5+ years of overall experience in cloud engineering, Dev Ops, or related technical roles, including at least 2+ years in Fin Ops or cloud cost management.
- Strong understanding of cloud platforms, pricing models, and cost optimization strategies.
- Hands‑on experience with Fin Ops tools such as Flexera One or similar cloud cost management platforms.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python or Power Shell for automation and data processing.
- Experience implementing governance frameworks, tagging standards, and cost allocation policies in cloud environments.
- Solid understanding of IAM concepts, including RBAC/ABAC and privileged access management.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams.
- Experience in Dev Ops or cloud‑native engineering environments is highly preferred.
- Fin Ops certification or equivalent credential is a strong plus.
- Competitive base salary range: $132,232 – $193,940 depending on location and experience.
- Performance‑based incentives, including short‑term and long‑term compensation programs.
- Comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, vision).
- Life insurance and voluntary lifestyle benefits.
- 401(k) retirement plan with financial wellbeing support.
- Flexible remote work arrangement within the United States.
- Exposure to large‑scale cloud environments and enterprise Fin Ops transformation initiatives.
- Strong focus on learning, upskilling, and professional development.
- Occasional travel opportunities for collaboration and workshops (1–2 times per year).
