IT Project Manager
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Service Now Team Project Manager/Architect based in the United States.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an experienced Service Now professional who excels at combining technical architecture, project management, and team leadership in a complex enterprise environment. You will oversee the strategic direction, governance, and delivery of Service Now platform capabilities while leading cross-functional development and administration teams. Working closely with technical and business stakeholders, you will drive platform modernization, custom application development, and operational excellence.
The role requires balancing hands‑on architectural expertise with program oversight to deliver secure, scalable, and high‑performing solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping platform strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting mission‑critical digital transformation initiatives. - Define and execute the Service Now platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and long‑term technology strategy.
- Architect enterprise Service Now solutions across core modules, including ITSM and additional platform capabilities such as ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, Sec Ops, or IRM/GRC.
- Establish and enforce technical standards, governance frameworks, development best practices, and platform architecture guidelines.
- Lead, mentor, and manage Service Now developers, administrators, and operations teams while fostering continuous improvement and professional development.
- Oversee day‑to‑day platform administration, including configuration, user management, platform health, upgrades, release planning, and performance optimization.
- Manage the full lifecycle of custom Service Now applications, including design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, and enhancement planning.
- Lead medium‑to‑large Service Now implementation and enhancement projects, managing scope, schedules, budgets, risks, vendors, and stakeholder expectations.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize backlogs, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
- Ensure compliance with federal security, governance, privacy, and change management requirements while supporting audits and authorization activities.
- Monitor platform KPIs, service performance, and operational metrics while driving quality assurance, code reviews, and continuous platform optimization.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- 10+ years of experience in IT project management, solution delivery, or enterprise technology leadership.
- 6+ years of hands‑on experience working with the Service Now platform in enterprise environments.
- 4+ years of experience serving as a Service Now technical architect or platform lead.
- 4+ years of experience leading Service Now development, administration, or operations teams.
- Strong expertise in Service Now architecture, configuration, workflows, business rules, integrations, scripting (JavaScript/Glide), and custom application development.
- Experience with Service Now modules such as ITSM and one or more of ITOM, ITAM, HRSD, CSM, Sec Ops, or IRM/GRC.
- Knowledge of REST/SOAP integrations, MID Server, CI/CD pipelines, update sets, release management, and modern API integration patterns.
- Proven experience managing Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Familiarity with federal security frameworks and compliance standards, including FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST 800‑53.
- Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Preferred certifications include Service Now CSA, CIS, Certified Technical Architect, ITIL, PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, or SAFe.
- U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain or maintain a NOAA Public Trust clearance are required.
- Competitive annual salary ranging from $103,000 to $135,000, based on qualifications and experience.
