Senior IT Engineer

Job Summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior IT Engineer to support a company supporting the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). This position is remote based out of McLean, VA. This is a contract opportunity supporting a mission‑critical federal environment focused on secure endpoint engineering, compliance enforcement, and modernization of enterprise IT systems.

The Senior IT Engineer will design, implement, and maintain secure endpoint environments across Windows and macOS platforms while supporting enterprise device management, compliance, and security initiatives in a highly regulated federal environment.

• Design and maintain workstation images for macOS and Windows, as well as VDI and remote access formulation
• Engineer and enforce endpoint configuration baselines using Intune, Ivanti, KACE, and Windows Autopilot
• Implement and manage OS and application patching processes
• Support device lifecycle management using Intune, Autopilot, Apple Business Manager, and JAMF
• Ensure log forwarding to SIEM and EDR platforms

• 8+ years of experience in IT, Endpoint Engineering, or Cybersecurity
• 6+ years of enterprise engineering experience (non-help desk)
• Hands‑on experience with Ivanti and/or KACE for patch management and experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows Autopilot, and JAMF Pro
• Experience working in federal environments
• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Active Top Secret (TS) clearance required

• Salary Range: $110,000 – $124,000 depending on experience
